Your participation in the Festival Foods Grandad Half Marathon helps local charities. The 2018 event will benefit the St. Clare Health Mission, Youth Enrichment Association (Y.E.A.) and Special Recreation of La Crosse.
The Grandad Half Marathon has raised over $500,000 for charities since its inception in 2008. We thank the City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department for their commitment to fundraising and strive to match their contributions in the coming years.
St. Clare Health Mission
This is a volunteer run, non-profit organization formed to bring free health care to those who have the least access to medical care. The mission is to serve those less fortunate, and to recognize the dignity of all. Donations go towards the funding for the mission, including the cost of medical supplies and medications.
Y.E.A. – Youth Enrichment Association
This is a non-profit organization which generates funds for equipment, uniforms, and special events to serve the La Crosse youth through quality recreation programs sponsored by the City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. The Y.E.A. is able to provide approximately 400 scholarships to the youth of the La Crosse area, which provides opportunities to youth that would otherwise not be able to afford these activities/programs.
Special Recreation of La Crosse
This program provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type activities for children and adults with cognitive disabilities. The Special Recreation Program provides leisure and educational programs for individuals with special needs in and around the La Crosse area.
